September!!

Wow, I can not believe its September. Time has flown by for me, so many things has changed for us this year that its just crazy. Here is just a few things that has kept us busy since the move to Texas.

First, there is that crazy move. Lucky it was smooth, truck came in time, only a few things broken and some furniture scratched these were expected. Lots and lots of boxes to unpack and organize the things with the 2 kids is just crazy. 7 months and we still have boxes to unpack.

The house, I love and hate right now. George did good in picking out the neighborhood and the house, love the floor plan. We have had a few issues with the house and dealing with the builder to fix them is just been awful, always e-mailing them and on the phone with them just to get things done. Luckily, the issues are not really major but they are problems. The 2 major issues we are fighting with them is the side of the house drainage, there isn't any and it gets flooded really bad and the media room. Media room has no a/c vents at all. George somehow missed this in the walk thru. But come on...no vents in a media room.... Ugh!!!

We've had the in-laws come visit us in the beginning of May, that was real nice and sometimes not so nice. They were a handful to say the least. I am just glad Briana had blast with them. I know she misses them. Just sorry we couldn't really show them around as I had no idea where to go and what to do as we have not been able to explore our surroundings. I did not have a car for 3 months and George not able to get time off work, it was a little boring for them. Oh well.

In March, my nephew (Brandon, lived in Dallas) ended up living with us, after breaking up with his girlfriend. Long story. Its good and bad having him here. I love that he helps me with the kids (sometimes) and bad cause, he is not motivated to do anything. He is looking for work and so far nothing has sticked. I have no idea what his goals are, seems at 21 years old he would have more motivation to do something. I have no idea what he plans on doing. Can't/won't maintain him. I just hate having people live with us, I feel uncomfortable in my own house.

Briana loves Texas. She has missed California, she keeps asking to go to the beach and go see her cousins. This kills me, I also miss the beach and seeing family gatherings, parties being held on facebook just makes it worse. But we are hanging in there. We have made some great friends with our neighbors and some of George co-workers have been awesome. She just started Kindergarten and doing great. She has made friends and I love seeing her so happy when I pick her up.

Christopher is going to be 9 months!! Can you believe it. He is keeping me really busy. He is a handful. I see the difference between him and Briana already. Its so true what they say, having a boy is so different. He is already climbing out of his playpen, exersaucer, and trying to get out of the crib. He crawls up the stairs like a lighting bolt, especially when he sees me going after him. That little booger. Love him.

Lets see what else, George is doing good a work, he will be there a year already in a couple of weeks. He has been dealing with some health issues for a few months now and they finally figured out that he has to remove his gallbladder, well they have to find it first, yup that is right. The ultrasound they did could not find it, so we are waiting for the results on the MRI to see where its at.

I am sure there is a lot I have missed covering. I've been a ball of nerves since all the changes. I am hanging in there and being strong for the kids. I really miss my friends and family back home. I have not really scrapped for a long time. I hope this will change now that some things have settled and having Briana in school now frees me up a little bit.

Well, that about it for now. Thanks for stopping by. XOXOO

Today

Today I am.....

Today I Am: unpacking and breaking down the millions of boxes we have from the move, and watching the little snow fall we are having right now.

Listening: Briana playing upstairs.

Reading: Nothing interesting yet, just catching up on reading all my magazines that are about a week behind in arriving to the new address.

Obsessed With: Finishing unpacking and organizing this house.

Thinking About: How crazy it is to pack everything and move to another state, where you know no one.

Planning To: start a list of many things we have to do here, DMV, register Briana for kindergarten...yikes!!

Dreaming Of: Summer.

Enjoying: Watching Olympics.

Vowing to: start scrapbooking and taking pictures like I used to. I've placed it in the back burner for awhile, time to get creative again.

Working on: unpacking these boxes.

Excited About: learning and meeting new people here in Texas.

Our New Home

Woohoo! Today we are officially homeowners in the great big ole state of Texas. I can not believe we closed escrow in a week!!! So unbelievable, especially these days where lenders are putting so much demand and asking for the impossible.

George found this house a week ago when the other house was a no go. It is a new built house, 2010, 3466 square feet, 4 bed rooms, 3 1/2 bath, a Media, Study and Gameroom. I can't wait for us to arrive in Texas and start the new chapter of our lives.

Monday Daybook for January 18, 2010

I am going to start following The Simple Woman's Daybook. I just love this idea. I've seen it before on a few blogs that I follow and thought I would join in.

Outside my window...it's dark and pouring rain, temperature of 57 degrees.

I am thinking...that I'm really tired from being up at 5am today and will soon be heading to bed. I hope.

I am thankful...for my two little ones. Love them to pieces.

I am wearing...the usual; jeans, t-shirt,my fuzzy slippers.

I am remembering...how much I hate packing and moving.

I am going...to scrapbook this weekend if not before, at least before I pack all my scrap stuff. I mean it!

I am currently reading... Nothing, no time with the baby, toddler, and packing. I do have some magazines (People, Scrapbook Etc., and Redbook) that I glance over, before falling asleep.

I am hoping...that we move to Texas soon. I hate not having George around all week.

On my mind...excited and nervous about our move out to Texas and the home purchase.

Noticing that...I've been skipping way to many meals. Really need to at least eat one good meal a day.

Pondering...what I want to do with my scrap room that I will have in Texas. Need to search for a desk and shelves for all my stuff.

From the kitchen...Picadillo with white rice. Brianas favorite meal.

Around the house... Lots of toys on the family room floor and table.

One of my favorite things...my fuzzy slippers. They're so warm!

From my picture journal...is at the top because I think pictures look better at the beginning of the blog. ....this is how my living room looks like right now. Toys....Toys...Toys.

Argh!!!

Yesterday, they did the home inspection on the house and today we received said report. Well, it did not go well. The house has all kinds of problems and the owner is not going to fix any of them, he had changed the contract to say we are to buy the house as is. Good thing we have 10 days to back out of the deal. The bad part is that we have to start over and search for the right house and of course we are out of the $450.00 for the home inspection and another $100.00 the goes to the freaking owner for us backing out of the contract, gotta love this Texas law. Wonder if he knew about the issues this house had. Argh, this is so frustrating and so stressful. I want all of us to be together again and this is just pushing things back.

George is going to search this week-end for another house, so hopefully he finds something we both will like. So please pray for us. I am so stressed about all of this, its just taking a lot of me right now. I don't sleep or eat well and dealing with the baby and a 4 year old by myself is not helping much either.

Praying this week-end will be a good one.

Finally!

Well, things are finally going in motion. We are in escrow for our new house in Texas. After going back and forth with the Sellers, they finally agreed to pay the fees that THEY are suppose to pay and not us. They were not aware of some of the fees and wanted us to pay for all of it. Um mm...NO!

If all goes well and please pray that it does, we close escrow at the end of the month. So, me and the kids will finally be in Texas the first or second week of February. George wants to paint some of the rooms, before we get there and some other little maintenance that he feels it needs to be done before we arrive.

Here is a picture of the house. It has 4 bedrooms, 3 1/2 bath and is over 3300 sq ft. Very large backyard, which I love.
Now to start the purging and packing, the ugly part of moving. Wish us luck. 01/12/2010

Our Happenings

Wow, been so busy with the Holidays, the baby and Briana, my days and nights just go flying. So far everything is good. We had a great and fun Christmas with Briana, so love the innocence. She was so excited when she saw all of her presents, but more excited to see the one thing she had asked Santa for, a pink video game. When I heard this, I freaked out, cause she never mentioned a video game before and it was 4 days before Christmas. I had George and my nephew go looking for her pink video game, my nephew the game console geek knew what she was asking, it was the DS Lite. George had to go to like 3 different stores to find the pink DS.

Now that the holidays are over, we are going into the next stage of our lives. The packing officially starts in the beginning of the year. I already started purging lots of things and still need more. The less we take the better, some things are just not worth dragging all over. We are waiting for an answer on the counter offer we did on a house in Texas. I hope it goes through, cause I am getting antsy and its getting down to the wire for us to find a place and close escrow. So wish us luck that they accept the offer and we can close before the end of January.

Update of my little man, he is doing awesome he has gain a lot of weight and keeps me busy, he is very alert for only a few weeks old. There are times he will eat 4-5 ounces of milk and will not go back to sleep, not a big deal during the day, but when its 2am, you need to go back to sleep my little boy. LOL!!

I think that is all for now, just a quick update on our happenings. Hope all is well with everyone.

Thanks for stopping by. {{HUGS}}

Sunday Seven

1. Was finally getting some good sleep in the morning, until it hit. A 2.9 earthquake at 8:39am woke me and Briana up, Ugh! I was sleeping so good, very rare these days that I sleep in that late. Oh well, just glad it was a small shake.

2. We are finally having some fall weather. Its not to cold nor to hot, just right. Today's high was 71 and cloudy, but the low will be about 45 tonight. Its also suppose to rain on Tuesday and Wednesday, lets see if they are right.

3. On Thursday, Briana and I went shopping. I wanted to buy me some fall shoes that I can just slip on. Its getting pretty hard to bend over and tie my shoe laces. We ended up at Kohl's and found some comfortable shoes and a great sale on baby clothes. Was not going buy any, but you can't beat 60% off of some cute baby clothes. I also bought Briana a blouse and her first Levis jeans. She did not want me to buy her anything, she kept dragging me to the baby side to buy her baby brother some clothes...Love it!!!

4. I am now 30 weeks pregnant, we are getting there. So far so good. I did have to go take the 3 hour glucose test....yuck!!! Hopefully, the results will be good. Please pray that it does.

5. Well, its been a month since George started his new VP position. So far they love him, they seen his department changes going rapidly. He has a few bad apples, but there will always be some. So far we are adjusting okay. Can't wait to do the final move, so we can all be together. Briana and I miss him a lot, just like I know he miss us too.

6. I tried to scrap something yesterday and today, but didn't. I have absolutely no scrappy mojo. None. Nada. I even went through the massive of photos that we have to see if any would do the trick, nope. none. I will keep trying, I need to get my mojo back before the baby comes and the move happens. Sigh!

7. I'm totally being lazy today watching TV, playing on the computer, playing with Briana. It's nice to just chill out. Well, that is not completely true. I did bag all of Brianas summer clothes and took out her fall/winter clothes. I did the same with my summer maternity clothes and found my fall/winter ones and placed them to wash. So really not a complete lazy day. Right?

Have a great week everyone! {{HUGS}}

Sunday Seven

1-Well the adventure has already started this week-end for us. George arrived in TX on Saturday night. Took him less time then I thought. He left here late Friday morning. He did good time and everything went good. No problems. Just when he arrived in TX it was pouring rain, thunderstorms at times so that slowed him a bit. But made it. So glad I was really worried about him driving down there by himself.

2-Well, I am now 26 weeks pregnant, per my ultrasound. So far so good. Little boy moves a lot and I am feeling much better, more energy. I was getting nervous on how tired I was feeling, at my last appointment my OB said my iron level was borderline, but he was not to worried about it just yet. He wants to wait til my next appointment to check it again and do my diabetes blood work to see if its gotten any better.

3-This week-end I actually scrapped a little. I did a card and a layout. Felt good to get my mojo back. Here is the layout I did.

I actually love the way it came it. Our first glimpse of our little boy. The ultrasound pictures is the full body of him, his little feet, and the last one is of his little boy part (hehehe). I can't wait to meet my little boy. Love him already.

4-Thinking of doing a weekly menu for me and Briana. She is a good eater, but there are times she just does not want to eat certain things. She sometimes refuses to eat colored rice, like if I make Congri (black beans and rice, Cuban dish) she won't eat it, cause the rice is not white. She will only eat white rice...oy vey! I am going to go buy a small rice cooker just for the two of us, like that I won't waste rice since I am used to making a lot for all three of us.

5-Sitting here tonight, waiting for George to call and while Briana is sleeping. I started our Babies R Us Registry. I wanted to get a feel of what we need for our little boy. I am glad all the major purchases we already have, like the crib, dresser, bassinet, stroller, infant car seat. All we really in need of is clothes, blankets, bottles, diapers, maybe a few other things here and there.

6-I have also been doing a little bit of cleaning/purging of things. Trying to eliminate things that we really do not need to take with us. I have tons of vases of millions of flowers George would sent me, seriously how many vases does a girl need. We also have lots of clothes that can go, stuff I have not worn since I left the Corporate world 8 years ago. Not sure if I should just give to the Salvation Army or try to sell things. I have noticed our area garage sells are not so good. We shall see.

7-Today, George met with a realtor and they previewed some homes. This realtor has been great, she took him around the areas and he got to preview a few homes. None he really thought would work for us. Says some floor plans were weird (compared to the homes here) or some homes our furniture would not fit. He did love the feel of the areas he was looking at, so different from here in California. He kept saying that we will love it there. I hope so.

That's about it for now. Just some ramblings of whats been going on with the Heredias.

Thanks for stopping by my little pad. {{HUGS}}

Emotional Friday

This morning, George left for his/our new adventure in life. He drove off to Texas. It's a 2 day trip by road. I am very worried about him driving down. I know he will be okay, but there are some crazy drivers out there. He will be checking in every so often to keep me from worrying. I know he was nervous this morning. He kept procrastinating on leaving. He was suppose to leave at 8am and left way later then that...LOL! He said, kissed us, and hugged us good-bye a million times. Love him. He will be back soon, I just hope the days goes by fast.

So far, Briana is doing good. I don't think she quite understood that Daddy was not coming home from work tonight. So, hopefully tonight and rest of the week will go smoothly. George is usually the one that tucks her into bed, gives her her warm glass of milk, and reads her a bedtime story. It's their moment, George was saying he was going to miss this every night. I feel so sad, he is such a good daddy.

Me, I am doing okay, I woke up nervous and once in awhile I get teary eyed and I try not let Briana see my tears. I think my hormones are taking over. So much going on, so many changes in our lives this year, its scary. I just got to remember that God has a plan and he will not lead us the wrong path. Trying to keep the faith going.

Also, today is 9/11. Its been 8 years since the attack. My heart goes out to the families that lost their love ones on this day, and thanking those who fight for our freedom everyday. God Bless.
