Happy New Year!!

Wishing you all a Happy and Healthy 2008!!

We are spending New Year's Eve and New Years Day here at home as George and I have colds. I also have a burned left hand. Burned it this afternoon with boiling water that was meant for my tea. I missed the mug in which I was pouring it into, as I sneezed and moved. Stupid me!! Well, I sure hope 2008 begins better then how 2007 is ending.

Christmas Came and Went

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas with your families and friends. We had fun with Briana, Santa gave her lots of cool stuff. The only bad thing that happened was that Briana broke my floor torchiere lamp.

What a Fun Day

Yesterday we took Briana to see Santa. At first she was scared, would not let go of her daddy. Somehow after about 10 minutes, George convinced her to sit with Santa. I do not know what he whispered to her, but it worked and here is the end result. I just love the picture.

Then when we got home from all the shopping. we started to do our first Gingerbread house. Briana had a lot of fun, I just let her decorate it anyway she wanted.

Here are some pictures.

Happy Birthday To Me

Yup today is my Birthday, I turn 38 today. I am getting closer and closer to 40. I am just glad that at this age I am very healthy and I feel good. Briana thought it was all about her, she wanted to blow out the candles from the cake my mother in law did and open my presents. I had
a lot of fun today.

George gave me just an awesome present, I don't think I could ever top this gift in a million years. He found my family 8mm films from when my brothers and I were just tiny little ones, these films are at least over 40 years old. He took them to get them transferred into a DVD. I was blown away, I have not seen these films since I was a little girl. I remember my parents would play these when we were small, we would all sit down in the den floor and just watch them all night. What I did not remember was how goofy my parents were, I just laughing and crying at the same time.Oh yeah! They were such party goers...LOL! They party a lot. I really miss my mom and I am so glad to see this DVD. I have watched it 4 times already. We are going to make copies for my brothers and give it to them on Christmas.

Thanks for visiting me. {HUGS}

Miss Briana

I've been wanting to take pictures of Briana to send out to our families and friends that are out of state and to those who have not seen her in awhile. Yesterday, Briana wanted to wear a dress and she picked the one she wanted. So I decided we should take some pictures, she said okay. We went outside and she was just being a witch, she would just run all over the yard and pose whenever she wanted. I took 20 shots and these are the only ones that are okay looking.

I am going to try again or Do you think one of these is fine to send? Which one do you like???

Thanks for stopping by. HUGS!!

It's Almost Christmas

It's beginning to look like Christmas around the Heredia household. The tree is up, the indoor decorations are put up. We are behind in buying presents and sending out our cards, as George and I have been terribly sick and we are just feeling like us again. I thank god Briana has not gotten as sick as we were. I will be doing some Christmas shopping this week. I have to do a list of everyone and just head out to the stores and buy everything in one day. I have done this before, but not with a toddler, so we will see how this goes.

Here are some pictures of our Christmas Tree.

**have been practicing how to take better photos of Christmas lights and such. Hopefully I can take better pictures on Christmas Eve.

Hope everyone is doing well. Thanks for visiting me.

National Children's Memorial Day

Today is National Children's Memorial Day. That occurs on the second Sunday of December each year. It's an important day in my calendar, because I lost my baby boy-Adrian Michael Heredia on November 17, 2002.

On Sunday, The Compassionate Friends (a global organization of bereaved parents, families, and friends) holds a Worldwide Candle Lighting vigil. It's a pretty neat concept. In each time zone around the world, at 7:00 PM your local time, candles are lit. Then, an hour later, they are extinguished as more candles alight in the next time zone. In this manner, the light travels around the world, all in memory of children who have left our sides too early.

Please light a candle this Sunday evening for the families who have lost children

Campassionate Friends

Thank you so much.

Sick....Sick.....Sick

I can not believe it is Thursday. I have been sick since Monday early morning. I had a fever for two days and a sore throat and ear infection, they are still hanging around. Today I woke up with a stuffed up nose and my eyes are feeling heavy. This is so not a good week.

I hope everyone else is doing good and keep warm.

Holiday Weekend

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. This year it was just the three of us. Our families went different ways. My older brother went to his In-Laws, my other brother decided to stay in Vegas, since my SIL had to work, my dad went to his In-Laws. George's parents decided to go to Hawaii with his sister and her husband (they don't celebrate, Jehovah witness). It's all good. I cooked a small turkey breast for the three of us, came out yummy. I did roasted mashed potatoes, rice, black beans, crescents, and baked a chocolate cake. We were stuffed! We played with Briana and saw a movie (Oceans Thirteen). It was a great night, no real big mess, no stress, no drama this year!

I debated about waking up early and do the whole Black Friday thing, I wanted to go get Briana's present that was on sale at Walmart, but found out I can get it online and get it shipped for free to the store. I just won't get it right away, which is fine with me, cause if I get now I will give it to her. So, I did my Black Friday shopping online, no crowds to deal with, love online shopping!!

That is it for now. Thank you for stopping by. {HUGS}

My Little Angel

Perfect Even In Death
by Lil' Red

No one remembers,
I cannot say why
Only thing I keep thinking
Is that nobody tried

You were mine, only mine
No one knew you like me
I don't know why He couldn't
Just let you be

We shared so much
In our short time together,
And the time that we shared
Has made memories forever

So much I learned,
So much I lost -
Everything turned, toppled
And tossed

Butterfly flutters, then turns
And kicks . . .
Then, that sad day . . .
Was my mind playing tricks?

No cry, no movement,
not even a Breath . . .
As you lay on my tummy -
Perfect even in death

When I think of you now
At the age you would be,
A beautiful "big boy"
Is the child I see

My son you were,
My son you'll always be
And One -
That is us;
You and Me

Adrian, today marks 5 years that I lost you, yet it feels like yesterday that I lost my little prince. The pain and anger never goes away,it just gets easier to hide. Today all my feelings of anger, shock, and indescribable sorrow came back. I know one day I will hold you in my arms.

I Love You my little angel!

Scrapbooker's Bill of Rights

I read this in Nicole's (NicoleHB)blog today and just had to put it here for you all to read.

The Scrapbooker's Bill of Rights: A Scrapbooker is entrusted with documenting and safely preserving family photos in an album to be treasured by future generations. Creating a Scrapbook is an honorable and important task. As a Scrapbooker, you are entitled (but not limited) to the following rights:

1. You have the right to take as long as you want to complete one album page. This may be five minutes or two weeks.

2. You have the right to purchase a certain scrapbook item for other reason than because

a) you like it
b) you think it's cute
c) you'll never find it again or
d) you know you'll use it someday.

3. You have the right to a workspace of your own. This may be the basement, your college student's old bedroom, or the kitchen table.

4. You have the right to scrapbook when inspiration strikes--whether the dishes are done or not.

5. You have the right to request peaceful, kid-free, stress-less scrap time--guilt-free.

6. You have the right to create pages that reflect and celebrate the spirit of the one person who is usually NOT in the photograph: You.

7. You have the right to put whatever you want on your album page—whether or not it's the latest trend.

8. You have the right to do nothing more than snack and socialize at a 6-hour cropping party.

9. You have the right to value your personal scrapbooking style to be as important as your photographs. You are creating a treasure—and part of that treasure is you.

10. You have the right to create your own legacy, one page at a time.

Hope everyone is doing well. Thanks for visiting my little place.

My Daddy!!

My dad, what can I say about him....I love him to death. He will be 72 years old next month, he is very healthy..thank goodness. He works like crazy, never stops, he has had only 3 jobs in his entire life here in the USA (he came from Cuba in the 60's). Well, last week-end he bought himself the 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse (his car is red). How can my dad drive such a cool sporty car then his 30 something daughter! LOL! I am happy for him and I hope he enjoys his new car.

My Crazy George

My wonderful husband and his craziness. He answered an ad last week-end wanting Extras for a movie. They wanted a picture of him wearing a tux. Well, the last time he wore a tux was at our wedding 11 years ago. He sent in this picture, I call it his James Bond look (LOL).

We were laughing, cause what are the chances to call him to go to the movie shoot, right. Well, the next day the casting company called and told him they loved his picture and to show up Tuesday afternoon for a tux fitting and today, Friday Nov. 2ND for the movie shoot. Go figure! He is at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles filming right now. The Shrine is where they do the Emmy Awards.

I know, I know you guys want to know for what movie......right? Here is the info He was able to tell me.

Movie Title: Tropic Thunder Movie Genre: Comedy

Director & Producer: Ben Stiller Release Date : July 11, 2008

Cast: Ben Stiller, Robert Downey, JR, Jack Black, Nick Nolte. Matthew McConaughey (he took Owen Wilsons part).

This is what I found about the movie.

a comedy about five actors who go on location and find themselves relying on their boot camp experiences when they get stuck in a real war-like situation." Black will play Jeff "Fats" Portnoy, an overweight gross-out comedian, who's forced to kick his drug addiction while filming on location in the jungle. Downey Jr. will play Kirk Lazarus, the greatest actor of his generation and a four-time Oscar winner. Baruchel will play Kevin Sandusky, an unknown actor on the set and Stiller plays Speedman.

Little Red Riding Hood

This was Briana's first real Halloween. We went door to door for the first time. She was scared and only wanted to be carried by her daddy. We only went around the block, cause she was being difficult. She did say thank you to everyone that gave her chocolate. As soon as we got home, she just wanted to play with her Mr. Potato Head pumpkin guy and eat some chocolate.

Hopefully, next year she won't be a scary cat. LOL!

These are only 2 of the good pictures I got tonight. I need to go over some of the others tomorrow or over the week-end.

Hope all had a good Halloween!! Thanks for visiting me.

Happy Halloween!!

Hope everyone has a great Halloween with lots of treats!!

Did Someone Say Scrap!

I was able to so some scraping today. I just love this Doodlebug Halloween line. I haven't had any mojo lately to scrap. I totally scrap lifted the first layout from someone at Two Peas, I just can't remember who. The second page to this layout, I took bits and pieces from here and there. I was hoping by scrap lifting someone I would get my mojo back and nope it's still gone. I will keep trying.

Halloween 2006-These are the best pics I could get of my little one. She was being a total witch, she just hated her hat and she would not stay still for me to take pictures. Gotta love a toddler!

**these are straight irl...hate scanning, need a better scanner. **

You certainly don't feel pressured to be a part of any party scene. In fact, you avoid trendier spots. You've been known to kick loose anywhere and everywhere. All you need is a cooler.

Gone Pink

In Support of Breast Cancer Awareness month I'm going pink! You can participate also. Go to Pink for October for more information!

Please go HERE and click the button to help fund free mammograms!

I have 2 good friends, Sheri and Angela that are Breast Cancer survivors. We should all find a way to support cancer research and awareness!

Love ya both!

Happy Birthday, Mami

Today would of been my Mom's 66Th birthday. It's been 14 years (will be on the 13Th of October) that she passed away and it still hurts, I still cry for her. I miss her so much. We were not the best of friends when I was a teenager, we would butt heads a lot. But, once I grew up and realized a lot of things, we began to connect. We got close and actually talked and went out to have drinks and listen to music. I am glad that we were able to spend so much time together before she passed away suddenly.

I love you Mami!

Some News......

George has been script writing for a little while, less than a year now. He gave one of his scripts to a well known actor, I will name him MD(I don't really want to give this away, just yet)about 3 weeks ago and never heard anything. Well, Friday afternoon MD called here at our house, I was shocked. He is very nice and to the point type of guy. He liked Georges script and wants to get together to go over the details when his Producer (don't know who this is) arrives to California in about a month or so. They do want to film in the state of Connecticut. Can this be true? I am so shocked. I don't want to get overly excited, cause you just never know what really ends up happening.

Lets cross out fingers everything goes well.

(just wanted to document this) :)

Her Little Toes

Look who got her first pedicure. Let's say daddy was not happy, nor were her Uncles....Geez, it was just for fun. I guess women think it is a cute thing to do with her mommy and men think they are way to young to do these kind of things. Oh well, I think it's cute and I love how they look with her sandals.

Briana painted toe nails.

Don't they look cute!

Not much happening in the Heredia household. All is well, which is good. We did have a small earthquake today. I think it was a 3.9 in Lake Elsinore, which about 30 miles away, but we felt a little shake.

Thanks for visiting. HUGS!

My Dancerina

The other day, George and I went through some boxes in the garage. I found a box that was not marked. When I opened it I was shock to find some of my old toys. I can't believe I found my Dancerina doll. This doll was given to me when I was 2 years old at Christmas time. My eyes teared up and I was telling George how much I played with this doll with my mom. I am so glad she is still with me. She is in okay condition, her outfit is a little faded and a few little holes here and there on her tutu. I am going to keep it in the box until Briana is old enough and take care of her. This is going to be one of many hand me downs she can pass to her daughter.

Here is a little detail about this doll, that I was able to find online.

She was introduced by Mattel in 1968. She stands at 24 inches tall. She is battery operated doll. If you push her crown down she will spin around. If you pull the crown up, she kicks her legs back and forth. She turns in either direction and can also dance in place on her tip-toes. The doll has a thin plastic record with dance music to be played on a regular record player (33 1/3 rpm).

It's Getting Hot.......

and hotter and hotter.....Late this morning it was 98 degrees......Then at 2pm it's 102 degrees.....then at 4pm, I check online and can you believe it........108 degrees!!!.... YUK!!

Another Shaky Morning

Well, we had another earthquake this morning, it was closer to home this time. It was a 3.2 magnitude at 8:30am. Poor Briana got really scared, I grabbed her and went under the doorway, she was holding on to me so tight. All, she kept saying "Mommy, I'm scared". Today's earthquake was felt stronger then yesterday's, even though it was smaller. I guess cause it was much closer to us.

It's unbelievable how many small earthquakes happen on a daily basis. I was looking here to see how strong this quake was and saw how everyday there are earthquakes we do not feel.

No damage was reported from either quake and we are doing fine.

Our Week-end......

Saturday

Briana played in her pool for a little while. It was too hot to be out there, it was 101 degrees way to hot. She was having a total melt down cause she wanted to put her bathing suit on and play in her pool. So, we gave up and let her have her way. Then in the evening George and I watched the movie Fracture . It was your typical legal thriller, I did love Anthony Hopkins character in the movie. I give the movie a B rating.

Sunday

Well, this morning (10:29am) we had a 4.7 magnitude earthquake. We are alright, no major problems have been reported. After that we have had minor aftershocks of 2.5 magnitude and the smallest being 1.5 magnitude.

My In-Laws came over for a bit. They watched Briana for about an hour, while George and I went to clean out the storage facility we have, 96% of the things in there is his. We were only about to get rid of 1/2 of the items. It was way to hot in there. Outside was 98 degrees, inside the storage was like 150 degrees, we couldn't take it. We will continue next week-end to finish, its suppose to cool off by then. We will see. George barbecued hamburgers and chicken and we had some potato salad to go with it. Mother in law brought over a flan. We just watched Briana play in her pool and relaxed a bit. I started a layout, hopefully I can finish it tonight.

Over all our week-end has been good.

Hope everyone is having a good Labor Day week-end. {HUGS}

Can't wait to Play......

with The Vintage Lace Kit from Create my Keepsake.

I bought myself an amazing kit. I bought the kit a week ago and just now went through the package. Can I just say WOW!!! I am loving the Basic Grey Infuse Collection and all the goodies in this kit are just awesome. It's been a while since I bought a kit from anyone, nothing was calling to me or I already had the paper collection, not to mention some of the prices for them are just out there.

I am not really sure what I want to do with this kit, I have been wanting to do a mini album with some of our wedding pictures. I think this collection will be great for that. Now to find the time to do it.

What Does Your Pizza Say About You?

What Your Pizza Reveals

Your appetite is pretty average. You don't go overboard - but you don't deprive yourself either.

You are a very picky pizza eater. Not any pizza will do. You fit in best in the Northeast part of the US.

You like food that's traditional and well crafted. You aren't impressed with "gourmet" foods.

You are dependable, loyal, and conservative with your choices.

You are cultured and intellectual. You should consider traveling to Vienna.

The stereotype that best fits you is geek. You're the type most likely to order pizza to avoid leaving your computer.

Me a geek??? Anyone that knows me will get a huge laugh at this. At least it got the not impressed with "Gourmet" foods right. Give me a steak with baked potato and I am in heaven!

Can't wait to see what your Pizza reveals about you. Have fun!!!

Thanks for visiting my pad....{HUGS}

Today George and I celebrate 11 years of marriage. In these 11 years of marriage we have gone through so much. We have bought 2 homes, have gone through health scares, lost our baby boy Adrian, have a beautiful girl Briana, and we've traveled so much. It's amazing how so many things have changed our lives, but our love has not changed one bit.

Love you, Babe and Happy Anniversary!!

Here are some pictures of the two of us.

Welcome to the World.

My cousin Myte had her baby girl. We went to see her today and Briana did not even pay attention to her, she preferred to play with her great-grandmother.

Here she is:
