Busy-Tiring-Stressful Monday 11/09/2009

Ugh, what a busy Monday monring it was. I had so many appointments it was crazy. I had to get my in-laws to babysit Briana too and that was stressful. They just got over their cold and we were not sure if they were 100% better, but we had no one else to leave her with. My regular babysitters stated working and going to College so they are pretty much busy too.

I was glad George was able to stay one more day, his new Boss and job are so understanding and pretty much love him over there. They let him take as many days he needs to take care of stuff here and take care of me and Briana. I really needed him with me on these appointments.

One of my doctors appointment was at the hospital. I had to see my gestational diabetes nutritionist and dietitian to go over my blood sugar levels I monitor every week. Good news! I am doing perfect, I now only have to monitor my self 3 days a week instead all 7 days..YAY!!

The next appointment was with an Ultrasound technician. They wanted to see how my amniotic fluid is doing and check things out. Baby looked good, moving a lot and being stubborn already, the technician could not get a good picture of him. He was having his back to us. I guess he did not want to be bothered.......LOL!

Next person was another technician, she is going to be monitoring the baby's heart beat after each movement and while he is resting. The test is called the Non stress Test.A technician straps two devices to your belly. One monitors your baby's heartbeat and movement; the other records contractions. The test usually takes 20 to 60 minutes. Per the technician everything looked good. I was there for 35 mins.

After like 1 1/2 hours of being at the hospital, when I went to schedule my appointment the nurse told me that Cashier downstairs needed Georges employment information, which I thought was weird, cause it was on the paper she gave me. So off me and George went to see her...well it turns out that our Insurance provider is no longer on contract with this hospital and will not be covering my visits or delivery.....WHAT!!!! You got to be kidding!! After going back and forth, told her we will call our insurance and see what can be done. I so upset and pissed. I am suppose to have the baby in a month and they come out with this.

After the hospital, we had time to go back home, eat lunch and pick-up Briana to go to my OB/GYN appointment and let the in-laws go, before they hit traffic, they hate driving in rush hour and at night, so we had to rush....gee!

Meanwhile, George goes online and gets a list of hospitals that our insurance will cover and pray to god that my OB/GYN is a member of too. Off to my OB/GYN's appointment. Lost 1/2 pound and blood pressure was high, not to bad, but the RN asked me if I was feeling okay. Told her its been a stressful day. The Dr. comes in and tells me heard you've had a stressful day, so George told him the situation with the hospital and to see if he was a member of any other hospital that he can deliver the baby.....Thank goodness, he was!!!! Yay!! After my check-up he went ahead and worked fast to get us scheduled for my December 11Th c-section, get the authorization from our insurance for the new hospital, gave us new paperwork to fill out and told me to stay a little bit and relax to see if my blood pressure will go down. It did. While there I also asked him about the H1N1 shot, We wanted to know more info about it and he did. So while waiting for all of the other paperwork, I got my H1N1 Flu shot....it hurt!!! Will just a little.

After all these appointments, it was time (4:30pm)to take George to the airport (although his plane leaves at 6:25pm), the Orange county one, which means its 4pm and we going to hit rush hour traffic on the way home...lovely. But of course, before taking him to the airport, he noticed one of the car tires was low, so we took it to the tire shop and they said it has a leak, but they can't fix it because the hole is on the side of the tire. So we had to get a new tire and have them put it fast or George would miss his plane. They did, they were awesome. Off to the airport, go there in 35 mins, not bad. But going home that took me an hour and 1/2 to get home. Ugh! How I hate the traffic here in California.

So now I am home trying to relax and hopefully go to bed early.

That all that has been going on here. Hope you had a non stressful Monday. {{HUGS}}

Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween!!

It was a hot day here in So. California for Halloween, we had temperatures between 80-85 degrees in the daytime and went down to 50 degrees, a little chilly late at night, but bad at all. We had an awesome time this Halloween. My brother surprised us and came down from Vegas. So we all went to my Older brothers house to go to the haunted house 2 doors down and have Briana trick or treat with her cousins. What blast we had. George had rented a Bunny suit and was a hit with all the neighborhood kids and teens too! They all wanted to take pictures with him. My brother told him to stay on his property, so he can charge all these people a fee to take a picture with the bunny....LOL! He started chasing kids, dancing, shaking his pink fuzzy tail....it was hilarious, no one thought about grabbing the camcorder to get all this in film. It would be so funny to watch over and over. Then a few family friends showed up and we ordered pizza, played guitar hero, and just talked all night, I mean all night, we got home after midnight. Awesome night!!!

Here are some pictures of our night. Briana picked out her costume, Meet Miss Bat Girl!

Here is the gang ready to go get lots of candies! There is Mr. Rabbit (George) to protect them.

OK, this picture is embarrassing, but wanted to share it, cause it just cracks me up. My brothers were laughing at my big belly and my wobbling walk. I was giving them a hard time, telling them at least my belly is going to go away in a few months and they need to work on getting rid of their bellies. The rest of the family and our friends were trying to see who had the biggest belly, between us siblings. Glad to know I did not win....LOL!!

I so love my crazy family.

That's about it. Hope you have a great time tonight. {{HUGS}}

Sunday Seven 10/25/2009

1-It's still October and I can not believe the weather we are having, can you believe its still Summer here. The week-end and last week we were in the 90's and at night would go down to the mid 50's. I hope it gets a little bit cooler, just to enjoy the fall everyone is having right now.

2- Well, I did not pass the 3 hour glucose test and now I am on a strict diet and they gave me a glucose meter to check my blood sugar levels 4 times a day. So far the diet is working and my numbers are low, thank goodness. I've been real nervous and upset about this and not having George around all day, like before is not helping. He is my rock and my support. The Dr. said as long as my numbers are low, there is nothing to be worried about. I am praying everyday, that the baby is okay.

3-I can't believe Saturday will be Halloween. With the weather we are having it just does not feel like its that time. We got Brianas costume yesterday. She picked this costume and she wants to wear it with her black boots. Sounds good to me.

She is all excited to go out Trick or Treating.
4- I started to purge some more stuff that we will not need to take with us to Texas. I have bags full of Brianas clothes and toys she no longer needs, some other household items I am giving away to a friend who moved and needs a few things. I can't wait to leave to Texas and start our new adventure.
5-George got a new laptop. Yay! The one we had was old and not working good and the screen was pretty small. He got one with a 17" monitor on it, its so cool looking. I can't remember what model it is, I do remember its an HP and got it on sale. I loved it. He said it will be mine once we move to Texas and he will only need it when he goes on his business trips. Sounds good to me.
6-Speaking of Texas, we still have not found the right house. The houses over there are so different then here in California. We just looking for now, but will have to choose one in December so we can close sometime in January. I really want a single story, which are not that many out there. It will have to be at least 4 bedrooms and we are hoping to have a 3 car garage, which most homes over there do not have.
7- We are getting close to picking out our Baby Boys name. Yay! Almost, we need to agree on the middle name. Briana so far loves his first name, does not like any of the middle names we have shouted out...she is so picky. I love that she is excited to have a baby brother, hopefully she will feel the same once he is here.
That's it for now. Hope everyone is enjoying the week-end. {{HUGS}}

Today, October 13th

How I hate this day. Why? You asked.

Well, today marks the death of my mother, it has been 16 years ago today. I remember it as if it was yesterday. The circumstances in which she passed could of been prevented, she had a bad heart condition, they knew she could not be upset, get her mad, so why did they? I don't know.
I just have to remember the good talks she and I would have and the times we went out to have some Pina Coladas, her favorite drink and listen to live bands. Just wish these talks were still here, cause I really do need my mom.

Fast forward to this morning......

Got a call from my OB's nurse. I did not pass the 3 hours gluclose test. Now I have to go to a special class at the hospital, where they will teach me how to each eat properly, how to count carbs and who knows what else. I am really nervous and have been in a funk all morning.
Just praying that the baby is okay and will be okay. I have about 8weeks to go. I am also experiencing some hemorrhoids, which is normal during pregnancy, but still nervous. I just hope they go away fast.

Then George had to take his car to get checked over the week-end, the check engine light came on and he took it in. Well, bad news the transmission on the Explorer is out and some other things they found wrong....of course. He called me to tell me the news.....I knew it was not good if he was calling me. It's going to cost $5,000 to get the car fixed. Argh!!! Of course this has to happen just as we paid-off the car!!! I am just glad nothing happened, when he drove to Texas, its all desert driving from here to there.

Then there is little miss B. She is so sweet and yet there are days she is so bad. I've noticed since her daddy is not home, she has gotten sassy with me. Talking back with an attitude and not listening to me when I ask her to pick up her toys that are all over the house, she doesn't leave the cat alone, loves to throw things at him.

So whats next???? The day is not over. Just hope its going to be better.

Sunday Seven

1. Was finally getting some good sleep in the morning, until it hit. A 2.9 earthquake at 8:39am woke me and Briana up, Ugh! I was sleeping so good, very rare these days that I sleep in that late. Oh well, just glad it was a small shake.

2. We are finally having some fall weather. Its not to cold nor to hot, just right. Today's high was 71 and cloudy, but the low will be about 45 tonight. Its also suppose to rain on Tuesday and Wednesday, lets see if they are right.

3. On Thursday, Briana and I went shopping. I wanted to buy me some fall shoes that I can just slip on. Its getting pretty hard to bend over and tie my shoe laces. We ended up at Kohl's and found some comfortable shoes and a great sale on baby clothes. Was not going buy any, but you can't beat 60% off of some cute baby clothes. I also bought Briana a blouse and her first Levis jeans. She did not want me to buy her anything, she kept dragging me to the baby side to buy her baby brother some clothes...Love it!!!

4. I am now 30 weeks pregnant, we are getting there. So far so good. I did have to go take the 3 hour glucose test....yuck!!! Hopefully, the results will be good. Please pray that it does.

5. Well, its been a month since George started his new VP position. So far they love him, they seen his department changes going rapidly. He has a few bad apples, but there will always be some. So far we are adjusting okay. Can't wait to do the final move, so we can all be together. Briana and I miss him a lot, just like I know he miss us too.

6. I tried to scrap something yesterday and today, but didn't. I have absolutely no scrappy mojo. None. Nada. I even went through the massive of photos that we have to see if any would do the trick, nope. none. I will keep trying, I need to get my mojo back before the baby comes and the move happens. Sigh!

7. I'm totally being lazy today watching TV, playing on the computer, playing with Briana. It's nice to just chill out. Well, that is not completely true. I did bag all of Brianas summer clothes and took out her fall/winter clothes. I did the same with my summer maternity clothes and found my fall/winter ones and placed them to wash. So really not a complete lazy day. Right?

Have a great week everyone! {{HUGS}}

Sunday Seven

1-Well the adventure has already started this week-end for us. George arrived in TX on Saturday night. Took him less time then I thought. He left here late Friday morning. He did good time and everything went good. No problems. Just when he arrived in TX it was pouring rain, thunderstorms at times so that slowed him a bit. But made it. So glad I was really worried about him driving down there by himself.

2-Well, I am now 26 weeks pregnant, per my ultrasound. So far so good. Little boy moves a lot and I am feeling much better, more energy. I was getting nervous on how tired I was feeling, at my last appointment my OB said my iron level was borderline, but he was not to worried about it just yet. He wants to wait til my next appointment to check it again and do my diabetes blood work to see if its gotten any better.

3-This week-end I actually scrapped a little. I did a card and a layout. Felt good to get my mojo back. Here is the layout I did.

I actually love the way it came it. Our first glimpse of our little boy. The ultrasound pictures is the full body of him, his little feet, and the last one is of his little boy part (hehehe). I can't wait to meet my little boy. Love him already.

4-Thinking of doing a weekly menu for me and Briana. She is a good eater, but there are times she just does not want to eat certain things. She sometimes refuses to eat colored rice, like if I make Congri (black beans and rice, Cuban dish) she won't eat it, cause the rice is not white. She will only eat white rice...oy vey! I am going to go buy a small rice cooker just for the two of us, like that I won't waste rice since I am used to making a lot for all three of us.

5-Sitting here tonight, waiting for George to call and while Briana is sleeping. I started our Babies R Us Registry. I wanted to get a feel of what we need for our little boy. I am glad all the major purchases we already have, like the crib, dresser, bassinet, stroller, infant car seat. All we really in need of is clothes, blankets, bottles, diapers, maybe a few other things here and there.

6-I have also been doing a little bit of cleaning/purging of things. Trying to eliminate things that we really do not need to take with us. I have tons of vases of millions of flowers George would sent me, seriously how many vases does a girl need. We also have lots of clothes that can go, stuff I have not worn since I left the Corporate world 8 years ago. Not sure if I should just give to the Salvation Army or try to sell things. I have noticed our area garage sells are not so good. We shall see.

7-Today, George met with a realtor and they previewed some homes. This realtor has been great, she took him around the areas and he got to preview a few homes. None he really thought would work for us. Says some floor plans were weird (compared to the homes here) or some homes our furniture would not fit. He did love the feel of the areas he was looking at, so different from here in California. He kept saying that we will love it there. I hope so.

That's about it for now. Just some ramblings of whats been going on with the Heredias.

Thanks for stopping by my little pad. {{HUGS}}

Sunday Seven

Good Sunday Morning/Afternoon everyone. Lots going on in the Heredia Family.

1. On Friday, we found out we are having a little boy. Here's the ultrasound picture they gave us. We have a few more, but these are the most important one. The last one shows his little wee wee....he he he. It was funny when the Ultrasound Technician showed us the Pe*is....Briana was with us and she thought the the lady said Peanuts......she told us that was silly that the baby was eating peanuts....LOL!!! Love my little girl!.

2. I am now 24 weeks, per the Technician. So the due date is more closer to my Birthday, then Christmas. Will have to wait and see what my doctor says on my next appointment. Since I will be having a c-section, they up the delivery to about 7-10 days of your due date.

3. George was offered an Executive position. He thought about really hard and we went over some things and thought it was a great opportunity. The way the economy is and the Real Estate business here is slow we figure we need to get back on track and have a more steady income, instead of a Self-employed income that is barely anything. So last week, he accepted the offer. The catch to all of this is that the company and position is in Texas. So we will be moving to Texas real soon.

4. My nephew Brandon is excited we are moving to Texas, he is in Arlington right now. Just moved there a few months ago. He will not be alone anymore, he will have us and we will have him to help out whenever we need something. He is the best.

5. We had a surprise visit this afternoon by Muso and Regina. They are such great people. They bought lunch for all of us and lots of goodies for Briana. We've been trying to get together for a while and they just decided to show up and surprise us. Good thing we were home.

6. I actually scrapped a little today. It felt good. I really needed to do something else to distract and relax me a little from all the big changes happening around us. So much has happened this year that its just over whelming sometimes and with these pregnancy hormones, well very emotional too.

7. Speaking of Scrapbooking, Scrapfreak will be hosting a a private crop to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. Your crop donation is only $10, and all proceeds will be donated to Susan G. Komen. You can reserve your spot or simply make a donation here. be sure to mark your calendars for September 26th for our ScrapPink crop!

Thinking.......Thinking

Well, since I woke up early this morning and I did not want to wake everyone up. I was searching on line for baby names and baby bedding. I usually hate doing this so early in the pregnancy, I'm about 18 weeks now. Its just me, ever since we lost Adrian, I get paranoid for every little thing. I was a real mess when I was pregnant with Briana. I know deep down, I should relax and enjoy this little boy/girl inside of me and I really do, I just panic.

Anyway, back to my searches. I found this one bedding I really love for my baby boy (if its what we will be having). I just love all the colors in this set and the jungle animals are just too cute.

Now, If we are having a baby girl, I like this one. I really like the colors, but I really need to search a little bit more, I keep liking all the girl bedding with butterflies. I really don't want to get butterflies, Brianas bedding and her room was/is butterflies and I don't want to have my two girls having butterflies in their rooms, I would prefer for them to be different from each other. Will have to see.

Raspberry Swirl

Now on to the hardest task....finding a name or better yet names.....UGH!
I went to all these websites that has millions and millions of baby names for girls and boys. Well, you know what? They are some really ugly and weird names out there. Really! I kid you not. There were names that I have no clue how to pronounce or know why anyone would name their child this or that. Argh! Well, I did NOT find anything that I really liked yet. Good thing I have a while to think about it and find the prefect one for our little one.

Well, that is all for now. Thanks for stopping by my little pad. {{HUGS}}

Sunday Seven

1. What a week. We had a unexpected visit from Cousin Betty (George side of the family) from Florida. She is a big Michael Jackson fan since she was like 11 years old. So she just had to fly out to California for his memorial. George took her to all of Michael Jackson tourist places. They went to Hollywood to see the star, the Holmby Hills home where he lived, his parents Encino home, and they drove all the way to the Neverland Ranch. We have tons of photos, like well over 600. We did not get picked to go the memorial, but we watched it at home and it was heartbreaking.

2. Besides doing all the Micheal Jackson stuff, we did all sort of things and went all over. We spent the 4Th of July driving the coast and stopping at the pier to watch all the fireworks. So much fun.

3. Here I am at 15 weeks pregnant. George loves taking candid pictures.....Ugh! I look terrible. I need him to take some good belly pictures, now that I have a lot more energy and feeling a lot better, no more nausea and thank goodness, I have not had any migraine headaches for a week now.

4. Went to my OB/GYN last week. Love hearing the babys heart beat. Hate getting blood out. The poor nurse could not get any blood out of me for the life of her. She tried and tried, nothing. Told her I must be dead, if I have no blood coming out at all. This made her laugh and she was more relaxed with me, said glad I have a sense of humor. She was new there and was so embarrassed. So now I have a few bruises and I have to make an appointment with the lab so they can see if they can get some blood out of me. Wish me and them luck...... LOL!

5. Love this picture of Cousin Betty and Briana. It was there first time meeting each other. We were so shocked with Briana. She is really shy when she meets someone and it takes her about an hour to warm up to you. Not, with cousin Betty! She would not leave her side for anything, she kept telling her how much she loved her and she would only let her put her in her car seat and do her hair. Briana was so attached to her that she kept telling George and Me that she was going home with her on the plane.....What!!!! She cried when Cousin Betty left and keeps telling me how she wished Cousin Betty would stay with us forever and ever. Poor girl.

6. On Saturday, we went to our friends little girls 5Th Birthday Pool Party at her friends private community clubhouse and pool. It was so much fun. I ended up being the photographer/photo taker, as the parents were so busy with the family and guest, they totally for got to take pictures. I am so glad I always take my camera. Briana and George had so much fun in the pool, at first she did not want to go in, but then changed her mind. I wished I would of gotten in with them, but I did not feel like spending over $50 for a maternity bathing suit to wear only once or twice, since we don't know anyone with a pool and we don't go very often to the beach.

7. Here is a Briana and Mommy conversation we had the other day.

Briana: Mommy I want a sister, not a brother.

Mommy: Well, Briana its not really up to us if you will have a sister or a brother. We will have to wait and see.

Briana: But, Mommy! I want a sister!!!

Mommy: Briana, its okay to have a brother, I have 2 brothers. What will you do if the baby will be a brother?

Briana: Well, Mommy! (with a sassy voice and her hands on her hips) you can always go change it for a sister!!!

Mommy: Laughing her arse off!!!

Got to love how their little minds work.

Have a great week everyone! Thanks for visiting my pad. {{HUGS}}

We're Having a Baby!!!!

Wow! So was not expecting this.

I had a feeling, but really did not worry or think about it. I have noticed I was more tired than usual and missed Aunt Flo , which is pretty normal for me. I just thought all the mount of work we have had and the daily routines, keeping up with a 3 1/2 yr old and still trying to get the house unpacked was getting to me. Since we moved its been non-stop.

I think we are at about 6-8 weeks along per my calculations , will see once I get to see the doctor and have a more accurate idea how far along I am. If I am right, according to some online calculations, this baby's due date is Christmas Day...... EEK! not cool.....or is it????? LOL!

We are excited and nervous at the same time. Since we lost Adrian (almost 6 years ago) I get into panic mode and I want to be in a bubble for the rest of the pregnancy and there is my age, I will be 40 in December, I am so nervous. I know God has a plan and things happen for a reason and we just hope and pray everything goes well with this pregnancy. With Briana, we had a scare with spotting and they put me in bed rest for at least 3 days, well I stayed in bed for a week, I did not want to take any chances and we got house cleaners and family and friends helped me a lot. I am glad we don't have to worry about going up and down the stairs, since the new house is a one story.

Oh, we have not told Briana yet. We want to wait a little bit longer to explain to her she will be having a little brother or sister. I think we will tell her once we get the first ultrasound, maybe it will be easier that way.

Anyway, I am just rambling on. Thought I would share some news with you all and I hope you will keep us in your prayers.
