Congratulations, Honey!

George's short film My Bus Stop has been selected for it's world premiere at the local San Fernando Valley International Film Festival! I am so proud of him, this was one of those crazy ideas he's been wanting to do a long time.

He shot the film in the beginning of September and finished editing, color corrected, etc., in the end of December. He wrote the script, auditioned actors and actresses, and directed for the very first time.

We submitted his film only to a few Short Film festivals and this is the first one that has responded. Some film festivals will take awhile to find out if they will accept his film for showing. They will be showing his film on the big screen on the week-end of his birthday March 17 , which is the best present he can get, how will I ever top that! LOL. On the 25Th of March, we will be attending the Gala Awards Ceremony, wish him luck on winning an award. :)

Dear San Fernando Valley International Film Festival Entrant:

We are pleased to inform you that your project has been selected to screen
at the 2007 San Fernando Valley International Film Festival. Following
is important information for you about the event. Please note that only
the submitting party is notified of this festival selection; it is your
responsibility to notify other parties involved in the production.

The festival will be held March 16-25, 2007 with screenings on the weekends
of March 17-18 and March 23-24, 2007 at the Beverly Garland Hotel located at 4222 Vineland Avenue in North Hollywood, California 91602.
All screenings are shown in the hotel's newly remodeled Beverly Garland
Theater. The hotel website is at www.beverlygarland.com should you have
questions or wish to make reservations.

Your project will be screened for the public during the festival, followed by a question and answer period. You may view all Official Selections, listed by
category, on our website at www.viffi.org. The specific screening
schedule will be posted on our website within a few days. Admission to
our festival screenings is free to the public, so be sure to tell your
friends and family if they will be in the Los Angeles area during the festival.

The festival will host a reception for all official selectees
at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2007 in the Father Serra Room of the
Beverly Garland Hotel, where a representative of your project and a
guest may meet with festival staff, industry professionals, and
reporters covering the festival. You have the option to send us one
poster for the reception and screenings to the address below, as well
as up to 10 press kits and up to 25 postcards or flyers. These items need to be received no later than March 12, 2007. You may bring as many more as you wish to your actual screening.

We would appreciate you replying and letting us know you received this email, as well as the name of your project, and whether a representative and guest will be attending the reception on March 16.

Our festival uses an exhibition quality digital projector to project the original DVD or Mini DV/DVCam screeners submitted by you. All selections are projected in their correct aspect ratios, and a Dolby Digital sound system is used. If the screener you submitted has a "screener copy" type message across the picture, we request that you submit a version without that embedded message.

Many filmmakers wish to submit a superior copy of their film to the festival for the public screening. Replacement or master versions, as well as posters/one sheets and press kits should be received no later than March 12, 2007 and may be sent or delivered to:

What! Arthritis and Tendinitis

Sorry I haven't been able to update my blog. My fingers and my left
wrist have been hurting for the last couple of days, they hurt so bad,
I've actually have cried from the pain.

I have Tendinitis on my left wrist. The doctor said if if does not get any better in a month or so, I will have to go in and get Corticosteroid injections, which he tells me it's painful. For now I am taking some prescribed anti-inflammatory medicines to see if this helps.

I am 37 years old and the doctor has informed me that I have the beginning of Arthritis in my fingers. I was so surprised to hear that I have arthritis! How can this be, I thought you get that when you are much older. When I spoke with my dad, he told me that my mom had arthritis before her 40's. Which the doctor had mentioned that my arthritis can be hereditary.
I am so bummed.

What Is Tendinitis?
Tendinitis is an inflammation or irritation of the tendon, a thick cord that attaches bone to muscle.

What Causes Tendinitis?
Tendinitis is most often caused by repetitive, minor impact on the affected area, or from a sudden more serious injury.

Who Gets Tendinitis?
Anyone can get Tendinitis, but it is more common in adults, especially those over 40 years of age. As tendons age they tolerate less stress, are less elastic, and are easier to tear.

A Beautiful Day

It was 74 degrees today and tomorrow it's suppose to be 80 degrees. Gotta love So. California's weather. You would think it's summer.

Briana and I had a great day, we went shopping for a few things, she would say Hi to everyone passing by the aisle. To my surprise they would say hi back and stop to talk to her, not that she says a lot, LOL. When we got back home, she wanted me to play with her, so we had a tea party and played ball outside for a little bit. Nothing much going on in our household, just the daily grind of housework, office paper work, and errands.

Tonight, we are going to see the movie Lucky Number Slevin that came in the mail today. I hope to get some scrapping tonight, if Briana goes to bed early. Well, I will leave you with some pics of today's tea party. Enjoy!

Valentines

We had an okay Valentines Day, we stayed home, made a nice dinner for the three of us. I baked a strawberry/vanilla cake and made a card for my two valentine. George surprised me with a beautiful card, he sure knows how to make me teary eye. All though, Valentines Day is just not the same when we were dating, George and I used to go all out on this day. I guess after 11 years together, saying I love you every time we talk, we leave somewhere is all we need from each other. I don't need the red roses from him to show me how much he loves me. He lets me know that every single day and night.

Hope all had a nice Valentines Day.

Family Roots

Wow! Today I found out there are famous, well known people in the Heredia roots. George and I were going through all the heritage photos his mom gave to us. I was very glad she gave these photos to us, I can't wait to scrapbook them. I will have to scan these and show you some of these photos. They are awesome.

Well, here are the two famous people in the family roots. The first one is George's dad cousin Alicia Alonso, A Cuban prima ballerina. She danced in Swan Lake with the American Ballet Theatre in New York. She is considered a legend and is most famous for her portrayals of Giselle and Carmen.

The other famous person is José María Heredia, A Cuban journalist and poet, he is well known for his poem named "Niagara". He is George's Great-Great Grandfather.

I can't wait to find out more about his family. I don't think there is anybody well-known in my side of the family. I need to start digging.
