Southern California Fires

There are several fires burning in Southern California, and the smoke and ash is everywhere. The worst part about all of this is that many of the fires were started by arsonist. It's just so sad, my heart goes out to those that are dealing with this horrible nightmare.

Here is a status of all the fires around us as of this morning, Thursday Oct. 25.

Santiago Fire --About 15 miles away from us.

• 22,000 acres burned• 12 outbuildings damaged• 8 outbuildings destroyed• 8 homes damaged• 9 homes destroyed• 2,000 homes threatened• 20,000 people evacuated• 600 firefighters on scene• 4 firefighters injured• 2 hand crews on scene• 50 percent contained

Lake Arrowhead/Grass Valley

• 5,000 acres burned• 6,000 homes threatened• 400 homes destroyed• No injuries• 5 percent containment

Agua Dulce (Buckweed Fire)

• 38,000 acres burned• 32 structures lost• 2 bridges destroyed• 15,000 people evacuated, but all are now able to return home• 3 civilian burn victims, 1 firefighter injured• 1200 firefighters assigned• 100 percent contained

Castaic (Ranch Fire)
• 54, 518 acres burned• 1,000+ People evacuated• 4 Outbuildings destroyed• 3 Homes destroyed• 4 Boats destroyed• 500 Homes threatened• 50 Commercial buildings threatened• 1264 Fire personnel assigned• 70 percent contained

Malibu (Canyon Fire)

• 4,500 acres burned• More than 200 homes evacuated• 1,500 residents evacuated• 15 homes destroyed• 5 businesses damaged • 398 fire personnel deployed• 3 injured firefighters• 100 percent containment

San Diego (They have been hit the worst)

Witch Fire
• 196,420 acres burned• 346,000+ People evacuated• 100 Outbuildings destroyed• 500 Homes destroyed• 250 Homes damaged• 100 Commercial buildings destroyed• 75 Commercial buildings damaged• 12 injured Fire personnel • 2 injured civilians• 1 percent contained

Harris Fire
• 72,000 acres burned• 346,000+ People evacuated• 100 Outbuildings destroyed• 200 Homes destroyed• 250 Homes damaged• 2,000 Homes threatened• 500 Commercial buildings damaged• 5 injured Fire personnel • 20 injured civilians• 1 fatality• 5 percent contained

Poomacha Fire
23,000 acres burned• 8 injured Fire personnel• 50 homes destroyed• 2,000 homes threatened • No containment

Rice Fire
• 7,500 acres burned• 500 homes destroyed• 30 homes damaged• 2,500 homes threatened • No containment

Camp Pendleton Fire
• 3,000 acres burned• 10 percent contained
